About Us

Over the past three decades, the Auditorium’s stage has been the canvas upon which many of our cultural masterpieces have been performed by artistes such as, David Rudder, Machel Montano, Mungal Patasar, Sat Balkaransingh, Andre Tanker, Etienne Charles and Pat Bishop, to name a few. Internationally acclaimed artistes the likes of, Terence Blanchard, Arturo Tappin and Andy Narell have also performed at the Auditorium. Dramatic and musical performances are a staple at the Auditorium: Raymond Choo Kong’s “Norman”; The Lydian Singers’ “Koanga”; The Baggasse Company’s “Madame Butterfly”; Dereck Walcott’s “Remembrance”; Richard Ragoobarsingh Productions’ “Mary Could Dance” and JCS Productions’ “Mahalia”, have all performed to full houses at the theatre.

In 2012, the Auditorium was completely refurbished with a brand new look utilising the Bank’s new corporate colours. The renovations were geared to enhancing the audience experience while maintaining the intimacy and ambience for which the theatre is renowned. Also included in the upgrade was the transition to L.E.D. light fixtures, thus accepting our corporate responsibility to the protection of the environment.

The Central Bank Auditorium remains committed to the promotion and enhancement of our many local performing talents. Though relatively small with a seating capacity of 411, its modern computerized lighting and sound technologies together with a professional technical and administrative staff are on par with other larger local, regional and international spaces.
